Can I be a foster parent?
As long as you are at least 21 years of age, are a responsible, mature and financially stable adult, you can begin the process to become a foster parent! Single parents or even parents who both work full-time can foster.
How do I get started?
Contact your local Bair Foundation office and they can mail you a packet of information to get you started. There are several free training courses that are required, you must provide references, a background check will be conducted, and a home study will be completed.
Can foster families adopt?
Yes! Although the main goal for any foster child is to return to their biological home, sometimes this cannot happen. When parental rights are terminated, the foster family may have the option to adopt the child and give them a forever family.
