SYRACUSE -- An Onondaga County Grand Jury handed up indictments in two criminal cases and declined to do so in a third.
Charlene Bernet of Broadhead Road in Cicero has been indicted on charges of first degree vehicular manslaughter, driving while ability impaired, criminal posession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, speed not reasonable or prudent, and passing a stop sign. Police say that Bernet was behind the wheel when her vehice crashed on Whiting Road in Cicero in April. Bernet’s son Raymond died as a result of injuries sustained in that crash.
Joseph Bisesi III of Sandbank Road in Elbridge was indicted on charges of first degree murder, second degree murder, first degree criminal use of a firearm, and second degree criminal possession of a weapon. Bisesi is accused of killing his parents JoEllen and Joseph Jr. with a gun in July and attempting to hide their bodies in their home’s septic tank.
Also, the Grand Jury declined to issue any indictment in the case of Kevin Hurteau of Ilion. Hurteau had previously been accused of first degree sexual abuse of a child after spending the night at an acquaintance’s home in the Town of Clay. The Grand Jury did not find enough evidence to send Hurteau to trial.
