Dragsters from all over burned rubber at the annual event

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Engines roared, tires squealed, and rubber was burned out at the annual iron man race hosted by Amarillo Dragway.

Racers of all ages, drove everything from dragsters to antiques. The event is an official International hot rod association race.

Around 1 hundred racers participated in Sunday's race, all competing for the coveted iron man trophy.

It's an event that caters to thrill seekers with a need for speed. "Just the thrill of the sport, they like to go fast and they like to do it in a safe environment," said Cat Henson, Co-Owner of the Amarillo Dragway.

If you went out to the dragway on Saturday, take notice. Since the race was cut short due to weather, if you keep your tickets owners say they will honor the tickets at any event happening this season.
