Summer events kick off in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- With the beginning of June comes Amarillo College's June Jazz. For the month of June every Tuesday night will be filled with the sounds of Jazz from local artists.

The outdoor concert begins at 7:30 and runs until 9. Everyone is invited to grab your lawn chairs or blankets and head on out to the Pit Amphitheater at AC next to the Experimental Theater.

The Starlight Theater also kicks off its summer music season with a concert every Tuesday evening during the summer months.

Amarillo Parks and Recreation Department's Starlight Theater begins its free summer entertainment season Tuesday at Sam Houston Park, 4101 Line Ave. (Western Street and Line Avenue).

Each week a different performer will play on the stage at 7 p.m. in the park. Families are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets and picnic dinners. Concessions are also available.
