CANYON, TEXAS -- A 2010 Canyon High School graduate won a big art contest and some money for college. Ellie Ward designed a poster that was picked from 1,200 entries, and it will now be distributed across the state.

The poster contest was held by the Texas Hospitality Association and Ellie was awarded a $5,000 scholarship for her design.

The poster helps fight underage drinking through a public awareness and education campaign. The poster carries the message "if you are under 21, it's illegal to purchase or consume alcoholic beverages in Texas."

Ellie is attending WTAMU this fall and is the daughter of Lisa and Gary Ward of Canyon.
