AMARILLO -- October is breast cancer awareness month and if you want to make a donation, you can do so and enjoy a great burger at the same time.

Grab a meal from Arnold Burgers on Washington on two Mondays of this month, and a portion of your meal's cost goes straight to breast cancer research.

"It makes it feel closer to home and makes us feel everybody should have a chance to survive this illness and this bad, bad thing in their life, and we want everyone to know we understand and through burgers it's a way to help heal, "said co-owner, Robert Arnold.

The Arnold's have been personally touched by cancer a couple of times in their family, and they saw this as a way to give back to their community.

On the 8th and the 22nd, 10 percent of their profits will head to the Harrington Cancer Center....a move apprecaited but not unexpected from people in the Panhandle area, according to Sarah Murphy, Development Specialist at the Harrington Cancer Center.

"It's just a great thing--this community is so supportive. It's very humbling because they've both been touched by cancer and so for them wanting to give back, I acutally spoke to Mr. Arnold yesterday and he said it's our way of remembering, by supporting other people going through the fight with cancer."

You'll be hearing a lot about breast cancer research and awareness over the next few weeks... so don't forget to pop in for a great burger at Arnold's and see your donation go to work.

"And help provide help that' available for anybody that doesn't have it." added Robert.

"There's always people who need help and we're happy to take donations and verty grateful for all the community support," said Sarah.

The donations are being sent specifically to a fund at the Harrington Cancer Center to help women pay for mammograms who might not be ablebran to afford them.
