Amarillo Police are searching for an older white pickup that may have been involved in a bank robbery early Monday afternoon.

Police said the robbery happened at First Bank Southwest in the 5700 block of Southwest 34th (near 34th and Bell) at about 12:30 p.m. Police said a male suspect entered the bank, approached a female teller and demanded money. The suspect had a dark-colored handgun and pointed it at the teller, police said.

According to police, initial information indicated the suspect fled in an older, white single cab pickup that was parked in an alley off Atikensen, east of the bank. Police said the pickup was possibly a 1970s model.

The suspect's description, according to police, is a 5'9" male with a blue hooded windbreaker type jacket with a hood. He was also wearing blue jeans.

Anyone with any information on this robbery or pickup is asked to call Amarillo Police at (806) 378-3038.
