Will Roger’s Range Riders hosted their fourth annual “Rope For A Cure.”  The fundraiser was designed for children and young adults battling type-one diabetes. People of all ages joined the festivities and experienced the art of roping at the Range Rider indoor arena. Type-one diabetes is typically diagnosed in small children. Committee Chairman, JT Haynes said, “It's a terrible disease. We are trying to create awareness for the disease and also find a cure but also benefit the kids so it will add years to their lives."

The money raised went directly to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or JDRF. Haynes also said, "We raise money all week to benefit juvenile diabetes, type one diabetes. We give some money to JDRF which is a research foundation. We also sponsor some kids that go to camps around the area and what these camps do is help them better manage type one diabetes.” The three day event raised over one hundred thousand dollars.

Professional and amateur ropers put their skills to the test and some walked away with bragging rights and a new belt buckle. "I'm just trying to help this cure for a good cause and thought I’d come out and rope today and have a little fun," stated challenge winner, Lane Ivy.
