City commissioners finalized the selection of 14 Amarillo citizens to serve on the committee
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A few dedicated citizens were named to serve on a special committee on Tuesday. Amarillo's city commission finalized the selection of 14 citizens to serve on a newly created environmental advisory committee.
The committee will start meeting sometime in the next month or so, and will start looking at ways the city of Amarillo can become more environmentally responsible.
"These folks that signed up to be apart of this know that it's more than recycling. It's about being responsible in your neighborhoods, it's about going green in your homes and businesses. There are a lot of different people that are involved in this so they are going to be looking at a lot of different things for us," said Amarillo Mayor Debra McCartt.
The following citizens have been selected to serve. In no particular order: Chris Bunnett, Jacob and Rhoda Breeden, Anette Carlisle, Mary Emeny, Rachael Kelly, Cathy McClendon, Kim Vincent, Linda Lloyd, Jenny S. Clark, Kevin Guttenplan, Warren McCarty, Gina Dillon Podolsky, Mina Johnson, and Rose Martha Cates.
Commissioner Brian Eades will serve as the ex-officio or the city's representative.
