Fatal head-on collision on Highway 207, one deputy injuried in response to the accident.

The Carson County Deputy has been identified as J.C. Blackburn and is listed in stable condition with a fractured lower vertebrate.
Two people were killed and a Carson County Sheriff''s Deputy was injured in a crash on Highway 207 early Monday morning.
At approximately 5:55 a.m., Carson County Deputy officers were called to the scene of a vehicle accident. As the deputy came upon the scene, the vehicle he was driving struck a vehicle that had stopped to assist in the accident, the Department of Public Safety said.
The deputy has not been identified at this time, authorities said.
The deputy did sustain injuries to the back and was transported to a local hospital.
Officers said two trucks had collided head-on killing both drivers. There were no other occupants of the vehicles.
Highway 207 was closed for several hours while officers and emergency crews dealt with the accident and clearing the road.
At 7:45 a.m., Justice of Peace Judge Jean Hardman pronounced both drivers dead at the scene of the accident.
DPS officers are still investigating both of the accidents.
It is unknown if alcohol or speed were factors in the accident. Police said they do not know if the occupants of the vehicles were wearing seat belts.
