AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Speed and alcohol were factors in the overnight motorcycle crash that killed a 21-year-old man, police said.
At about 2:16 a.m., Friday, police responded to a call at the intersection of 46th Avenue and South Libscomb Street.
Police said 21-year-old Daniel William Campbell lost control of his 2004 Harley Davidson when it left the roadway and struck a traffic control sign. Campbell was traveling eastbound on West 46th Avenue.
An autopsy was ordered by a Justice of the Peace and police said alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.
Police said Campbell was not wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation, police said.
