AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Sunday morning officers responded to the 3100 block of south Fairfield Street when a child was struck by a vehicle when her mother was backing out of the driveway.
According to police, the woman was backing her red Chevrolet SUV out of their driveway when she ran over the child.
The child was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The child was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
At this time no charges have been filed.
