WELLINGTON, TEXAS -- All three Wellington Schools were placed on lockdown after a suspicious item was found on a copy machine. The schools were on lockdown for about an hour.

Wellington Superintendent Carl Taylor said that the schools were locked down as a precautionary measure although there was no immediate threat or danger.

Police are currently investigating the scene to find out more information about the source of the item left on the copy machine.

Parents of students were notified via an emergency notification system.

Classes are back on regular schedule at all three schools as police finish their investigation.
