EL PASO, Texas (AP) - A West Texas jury has acquitted a Fort Bliss soldier charged with murder in the shooting deaths of two fellow soldiers during an argument outside a bar. Jurors in El Paso yesterday acquitted Tyrone Head. Witnesses testified that Head fired into the air during the January 2012 incident, and another man allegedly shot and killed Preston Brown and Damien Bailey.

MCALLEN, Texas (AP) - A South Texas couple who ran a medical equipment company and an ex-worker have pleaded guilty in an $11 million health care fraud investigation. RGV DME owner Marcello Herrera, wife Carla Cantu Herrera and Ramon De La Garza pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud Medicare and Texas Medicaid. All three face sentencing later this year.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) - The famous "Victory or Death" letter from the commander of the Alamo is returning for the first time since it was carried away on horseback in 1836. Texas state troopers will escort the historic letter from Austin to San Antonio today. The letter will be on display for 13 days in a specially built cabinet.

NEW YORK (AP) - A federal bankruptcy judge will consider approving the merger of American Airlines and US Airways next month. The judge yesterday approved the hearing date of March 27th. Fort Worth-based American and US Airways Group Inc. last week announced they plan to merge in an $11 billion deal.
