On Saturday the Texas Department of Public Safety trooper conducted a traffic stop and discovered 2,735 grams of methamphetamine valued at $229,100.

At approximately 1:27 p.m. a DPS trooper stopped at 2002 Ford Escort one mile east of Conway in Carson County for a traffic violation.

A DPS news release said the trooper searched the vehicle during the stop and found the drugs inside the front passenger door panel. The drugs were allegedly being transferred from Phoenix, Arizona to Oklahoma City, Okla.

The driver, 26-year-old Octavio C. Beltran was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Carson County Jail.
