DPS troopers seize $114K worth of Marijuana during traffic stop

Friday March 1, 2013, the Texas Department of Public Safety stopped at Honda Odyssey driven by Sandra Richardson, 43, and her passenger Elsie Hernandez, 60, for a traffic violation.

During the stop the DPS trooper searched the vehicle with a DPS K-9 unit and found 207 pounds of marijuana inside the vehicle worth and estimated $114,086. The 108 bundles of marijuana inside the rear hatchback of the vehicle.

The drugs were allegedly being carried from El Paso, Texas to Oklahoma City, Okla.

Richardson and Hernandez were arrested for possession of marijuana and booked into the Carson County Jail.
