AMARILLO, TEXAS -- House Appropriations Committee Democrats have released a report that indicates Pantex will be affected by potential across the board spending cuts that will take place March 1^st unless agreement occurs between Congress and the Administration.

They said Pantex will furlough up to 2500 employees for three weeks.

However, Congressman Henry Cuellar of Texas, a Democrat, said the cuts are not certain but are potential if $85 Billion is slashed from fiscal year 2013.

The sequestration occurs as a remnant of last year’s fiscal cliff negotiations.

Area Congressman Mac Thornberry said if the cuts do come about, Defense will take a big hit and Pantex could be part of that.
