Producers and ranchers hit by the drought will now be eligible for government loans and other programs. The Agriculture Secretary declared 597 counties across the country and all of the Texas Panhandle as primary disaster areas.

Today the National Weather Service participated in a conference call that discussed that drought and they tell us, although that little bit of moisture helps lower our fire danger it won't do much for vegetation.
