Amarillo is set to have a crucial laboratory for the Panhandle. The Texas Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory or (TVMDL) which is part of the Texas A&M system, is about to undergo major renovations, and will be brought up to biosafety level 3 for animal disease diagnosis.
