AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Officials at Plains Dairy have approved a $10 million modernization project aimed at expanding their facility.
The expansion will allow the seventy eight year old facility to hold more milk, punch, juice, and other Plains Dairy products, with plans that include silos with capacities up to sixty thousand gallons.
The goal of the expansion is to meet a growing demand. According to Affiliated Foods, which bought Plains in 1996, Plains Dairy makes rougly one hundred million dollars a year.
Ground breaking for the expansion will start in March, officials said.
