AMARILLO -- Big changes may be on the way for the Texas Department of Transportation.  A restructuring plan has already been put into action.   Though it doesn't appear that any TxDot employees will lose their jobs, they may need additional training for a new job, or simply be re-located.  The goal behind this new plan is to save money by reducing job duplication.  TxDot hopes to save 35 million dollars a year by consolidating their resources.

Randy Hopmann, the Interim Amarillo District Engineer says with mainly just looking internally with efficiency TxDot is looking at how they can do a better job in providing their services to the tax payers of Texas, and do it in the most efficient manner possible.
