The first day of August is shaping up to be a breezy and hot day with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky. Upper level high pressure will keep our rain chances at bay, and help our afternoon high temperatures to climb into the mid 90s to around 103°. So yes... expect it to be warmer than it has been recently. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at 15 to 25 mph by the afternoon with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible as well.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- A lawsuit's been filed in New Mexico, alleging authorities there are withholding public records about an investigation into Billy the Kid's death in 1881.

According to legend, the Kid -- aka William Bonney -- was shot by Sheriff Pat Garrett in Fort Sumner, New Mexico. But questions about his death persist with some claiming he lived to old age.

The Albuquerque Journal says the new lawsuit contends that Lincoln County Sheriff Rick Virden must produce records from an investigation into the Kid's death under state open records laws.

Virden says he doesn't have any records.

During the investigation, two bodies in Arizona were exhumed and analyzed by celebrity forensic scientist Dr. Henry Lee.
