Well, Google's done it again. They're going toe-to-toe with Microsoft by releasing a new browser called Chrome.
You'll remember that a browser is the program that allows you to see web pages. Microsoft's is called Internet Explorer.
The Google Chrome browser is still in beta testing, but you can download it and play with it. I like it. It seems faster than IE and operates very efficiently.
It basically has one blank at the top, called the Omnibox, that you can search from or type a web address in. And unlike IE, the tabs for multiple windows are at the top, giving you more screen real estate.
Another cool feature can be seen when you open a new tab. It shows you the most frequented sites you've visited in thumbnailed versions you can easily click. Overall, I'd recommend it. Check it out and let me know what you think!
With all the hurricanes lurking about, I find myself checking out some of the National Weather sites on the Internet. My favorite, and my site of the week, is Storm Pulse.
It's incredibly interactive and allows you to see everything in one screen. Clicking on storms brings up their information. So, while KVII is the best for local weather coverage, get the latest on those hurricanes at www.stormpulse.com.
