The first day of August is shaping up to be a breezy and hot day with a mostly sunny to partly cloudy sky. Upper level high pressure will keep our rain chances at bay, and help our afternoon high temperatures to climb into the mid 90s to around 103°. So yes... expect it to be warmer than it has been recently. Winds will blow from the south and southwest at 15 to 25 mph by the afternoon with some gusts upwards of 35-40 mph possible as well.

Most of us use Internet Explorer every day to surf the Internet.

Did you know there are a lot of hidden shortcuts and tricks you can use to speed things up?

For instance, did you know you can just type in a word, like a company name in the address bar, hit Ctrl-Enter, and it will add on the .com, the http, and the www. Pretty cool, huh? And, if you're using Internet Explorer version 7, check out this little tab with the four boxes on it. Clicking it will show all open tabs as thumbnail images.

Don't forget the keyboard shortcuts, though. My favorite is F11. It toggles between full screen and standard so you can see more of large web pages.

So, you want to make a great presentation next time you speak to a group, but you can't afford PowerPoint. Well, check out my site of the week, SlideRocket.

It is an online version of PowerPoint and in my opinion offers more options. You can even put your presentations online and use them with people during a teleconference. Pretty cool.
