AMARILLO -- All that is left of Vance and Barbara Woodbury's home is what familyand friends are finding in the debris. Wednesday night a tornado blew through their property destroying their home.

The tornado traveled on the ground for nearly a half hour before heading their way. It hit just east of the small Oklahoma community of Elmwood.

It then crossed highway 412 and headed north toward the Woodbury residence. Beaver County Sheriff, Reuben Parker, was in his police unit following it.

"It hit the hay bails just of the south here," said Sheriff Reuben Parker. "I saw them get picked up and then when the dust settled I saw that this house was justplum gone."

He found the couple, and it was too late. The couple is the most recent Oklahoma residents to be killed by atornado.

The last time any Oklahomans had been killed in a tornado was back in 2001.

Sheriff Parker said the Woodbury's had lived in the area for sometime. In fact, Parker lives in the house where Vancewas raised, which is only a little ways from where the Woodbury's had lived.

He said they were the kind of people you could count on.

"Out here in this community if someone goes out on vacation someone willtake care of their animals and stuff. And they took care of animals," he said.

Sheriff parker said there was also damage to a nearby farm. But nothing to thismagnitude. For now they just need to pull all the pieces together tofigure out why this happened.

"There's always something good that comes out of something bad. We don'tunderstand that, but the god lord does," he said.
