CANYON, TEXAS -- A blaze that happened overnight has destroyed a Randall County families home.

Around 4 a.m. the Randall County, Canyon and Lake Tanglewood fire departments all responded to a structure fire at 1601 Venetia.

When fire crews arrived they found the home and two suv's fully engulfed in flames which resulted in a total loss for the family. According to fire officials the family had smoke detectors that woke them up.

Everyone including two children and two dogs were able to exit the burning home safely.

No cause of the fire has been determined as of yet however, one possibility is that it may have started in the family's laundry room.
