Hundreds of people are expected to gather in Moriarty on Saturday for the funeral of former Gov. Bruce King.

MORIARTY, N.M. (AP) -- The longtime Democratic leader died last week at his ranch in Stanley at the age of 85.

King was governor from 1971 to 1974; 1979 to 1982 and 1991 to 1994. He also served in the state Legislature, including as speaker of the House, and was first elected in 1954 to the Santa Fe County Commission.
