AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Iglesia Cristiana Evangelica or the Evangelical Christian Church, has been in Amarillo since 1927, and is the oldest Spanish speaking Protestant church here.

Today they got a permit to begin building a new 4 million dollar worship center.

The new facility will seat up to 1000 people, which is an upgrade. The facilty they are in now only seats around 200.

Pastor Ray Ramos says it has been a dream of his to have a multi-purpose worship center, that will host everything from fellowship, sporting events, even theatre productions.

Ramos said, "ever since 1998 we experienced growth and renewal. God has put goals into our hearts to reach, and to dream, and it's beautiful to dream."

The church hasn't raised all of the funds yet to complete the project, however, they say faith is all you need.

They hope to break ground on the project in February.
