AMARILLO,TEXAS -- Is there a serious problem with Sexting in the Panhandle? Pronews 7 checked with both Randall County D.A. James Farren, and the A.I.S.D. Prevention Specialist Teresa Kenedy.

Farren says one problem is that minors are sending nude pictures to other minors, which are then ending up in the hands of adults. Those sexts are a criminal offense, with charges ranging from misdimeanors to felonies.

A.I.S.D officials say over the past year, they have put together sexting programs for parents with pamphlets and DVDs to let everyone know how serious it is. " Don't send naked photographs or body parts, they need to send appropriate pictures if they are going to send , and only to people that they know, and parents give them permission to send them to." said Teresa Kenedy.

"Parents, know what your kids are doing, know what devices they're using, know what they are using the devices for, know what they are doing on phones." said James Farren.
