Events set for Monday
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Special services will be held Monday May 25th in celebration and honor of Memorial day.
The Texas Panhandle War Memorial will host a service starting at eleven in the morning. The purpose of the event is to honor all the men and women currently serving in our military, as well as, those who have served and those who have laid down their lives in service. Admission is free attendees are asked to supply their own lawn chairs. The Texas Panhandle War Memorial is located at 4101 South Georgia Street in Amarillo.
A Remembrance Service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1p.m. Monday. Special Honor will be bestowed upon each Veteran who was buried within Memorial Park Cemetery from Memorial Day 2008 through Memorial day 2009. Visitors to the cemetery will be able to view the United States Flags adorning the graves of over 15 hundred Veterans burial sites within the 30 acre park.
