AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Three separate traffic stops over the past few days have taken more than $250,000 worth of drugs off the streets.
The first happened last Friday near Conway. Troopers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, and after getting consent to search troopers found 1000 grams of cocaine valued at $73,000. An Arizona man was arrested and booked into the Carson County Jail.
The next day troopers in the same area stopped a vehicle for speeding and failure to use a turn signal. Troopers found four bundles of marijuana valued at more than $7000. The man was arrested and booked into the Carson county jail.
Later that evening troopers stopped a vehicle near Adrian for speeding. Consent to search was denied so troopers used a drug dog to free air sniff the vehicle.
The dog alerted the presence of a controlled substance and troopers found nearly 50 pounds of marijuana worth more than $170,000. A man and woman from Arizona were arrested and booked into the Potter County Jail.
