2-1-1 Texas is working to warm up families who are in need of heaters

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- 2-1-1 Texas is collecting portable heaters, and money for heaters, to help out needy families and individuals in the Panhandle.
Last year, 58 heaters were given out over the winter months to the elderly, young, or disabled and this year, 2-1-1 Director Kelly Stephens says, they will have even more in need because of low paying jobs, fixed incomes or layoffs.
2-1-1 Texas hopes to bring in 100 heaters or more for those who need them.
if you can help them reach that goal, drop heaters or a monetary donation by the Tyler Street Resource Center at 200 S. Tyler in Amarillo.
