IRVING, Texas (AP) - Retail gasoline prices in Texas have fallen 4 cents since last week after climbing steadily for a month.

AAA Texas reported on Thursday that the average price per gallon at the pump was $2.51. Prices decreased 3 cents nationally to $2.65.

Fort Worth and Amarillo had the lowest price at $2.47 a gallon; El Paso continues to have the most expensive gas at $2.64, just one penny below the national average.

The association says prices are less volatile because of stabilized oil prices and a change in the expected path of Hurricane Ida away from offshore oil fields. Huge supplies of oil and gasoline also contributed to the stabilized prices.
