MOORE COUNTY, TEXAS -- The local food pantry in Moore County needs some help. The Moore County Press reports that the pantry is in need of donations to help meet the needs of the community. There are over 40 people who go to the pantry for help every month, and an additional 30 in Cactus, Sunray, and Dumas who receive assistance, that's according to John Haltom. Those numbers don't include the individual referrals that come in throughout the month. The high demand has left shelves empty.

If you would like to help here's what they need.

2 pound sacks of flour and sugar

Jelly

Jell-O (boxes or pre-packaged cups)

Canned Meats

Cookies

Paper Towels

Toilet Paper

Monetary donations may be sent to Moore County Food Pantry, PO Box 1604, Dumas, TX 79029.

Haltom said that by the time this year comes to an end there will be approximately 1,800 people serviced by the pantry.
