BUSHLAND, TEXAS -- Pronews 7 has confirmed that following a visual inspection, there was likely a failure initiated at an abandoned tap connection.

This could be what led to the explosion of a gas pipeline in Bushland in November. This is a preliminary finding, the actual cause of the failure is still unknown at this time. According to Damon Hill, with the Department of Transportation Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, something called a corrective action order is filed after a pipeline accident. This order is an enforcement action for operators to take corrective measures to protect the public and property in a community while the pipeline is in operation. The order states that following a visual inspection, the failure likely initiated at an abandoned tap connection.

The investigation into the incident will continues, there is no timeline on when the investigation will be complete.
