Amarillo warrant round-up off to good start

AMARILLO,TEXAS -- This week Amarillo Police Department began their warrant roundup, in conjunction with the state's warrant roundup. On Monday, people with outstanding Amarillo Municipal Court warrants started receiving warrant notice postcards in the mail. The cards are to remind people that they have the next two weeks to contact the court and arrange to clear up the warrants.

At the end of Wednesday, the Municipal Court reports that 711 warrants have been cleared through walk-ins and normal arrest activity. The total face value of all warrants cleared is $70,374.40. The number, includes warrants that are paid off and those cleared by jail credits or payment extensions.
