FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - A 23-year-old man who threatened to kill a judge before his trial has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for raping a woman.

Jurors in Fort Worth recommended the sentence for Jeremy Dontae Craft on Thursday, the day after convicting him. Jurors had deliberated for 38 minutes before finding him guilty.

Retired Judge Phillip Vick, who took over after Craft threatened state District Judge Elizabeth Berry, immediately imposed the sentence. Craft must serve at least 30 years before becoming eligible for parole.

Besides threatening Berry on March 4, Craft disrupted the trial during jury selection March 5 and during the second day of testimony Tuesday. Jurors were not present during the outbursts.
