BORGER, TEXAS -- Pronews 7 has confirmed Johnathon Frank Athey, 27, was arrested and charged with murder in connection with an infant's death in the Texas Panhandle.
According to the Hutchinson County Sheriff, Athey was responsible for the death of his 3-month-old child, Dustin Athey. The baby's death was reported on April 19th in the Sanford Estates Addition in Fritch. Preliminary autopsy listed the infant's cause of death as asphyxiation. Athey was arrested around 4:30p.m Wednesday afternoon after the District Attorney agreed to move forward with the investigation.
Athey is currently being held in the Hutchinson County jail on a charge of murder.
