AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police have now shot and killed two men in two separate incidents in the last 24 hours.

It happened just after 3:00 Thursday afternoon. Police were reportedly looking for a man wanted for buglary.

Officers then found the man and the man ran near the BNSF railway at the tracks at Southeast First Ave. and South Pierce.

That's when police say he pointed a gun at them. At least one of the police officers shot and killed the man. His identity is not yet being released.

Two other men who were also wanted for warrants were detained at the scene.

The officer has been placed on a three-day administrative leave which is standard procedure for an officer-involved shooting.
