October 27 and already the first snow of the season?

Yes, that's right. Mother Nature ushered in storms overnight which included snow!

A Winter Weather Advisory continues throughout the area. One to three inches of snow is possible with some locations getting up to four inches of snow!

According to Texas Department of Transportation, the Amarillo District plows have been deployed across the northern, western and central Panhandle to deal with snow accumulation. TxDOT said crews are also applying bottom ash and de-icing material to roadways. They are concentrating heavily on overpasses, ramps and intersections.

As for the City of Amarillo, one inch and more can be seen. Visibility remains general fair to good, TxDOT said.

Drivers can expect slush and slippery spots throughout the region this morning. You are asked to travel with care and to allow extra time on your commute.
