Anyone who has ever had to wait for a delivery or repairman knows that it can be a waste of your time. But a new survey shows that it is also a huge waste of money.

A new poll from IBOPE Zogby shows that waiting for appointments and in-home services cost Americans $37.7 billion so far this year.

Cable techs topped the list of those who keep customers waiting the longest, but Internet technicians and furniture delivery people also made the list.

A majority of those surveyed said they waited an average of four and a half hours for their appointment to show up.

What's the longest you've had to wait for an in-home service?
