AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Authorities are now investigating the death of a couple who police say suffered at least one gunshot wound each.
Dr. Henry Gail Norrid, 71, and Carolyn Ann Norrid, 53, were both found deceased in a bedroom of a home in the 3400 block of Concord Tuesday afternoon just after noon, police said.
According to police, they arrived at the home to check the welfare of the occupants, An acquaintance, police said, had not heard from Dr. Norrid and his wife in several days.
Officers were able to force their way back into the back door of the home. That's when they discovered Dr. Norrid and his wife dead inside a bedroom.
Police said both Dr. Norrid and his wife suffered at least one gunshot wound.
The weapon that is believed was used in the incident was found in the same bedroom, police said.
Special Crimes continues to investigate this case. Police said a suspect outside the home is not being sought.
An autopsy has been ordered by a Justice of the Peace.
According to HealthGrades.com, Dr. Norrid practices neuromusculoskeletal medicine and family practice. The website said he received his D.O. 39 years ago.
