One area church is doing what it can to make a difference in Amarillo.

Hillside Christian Church is teaming up with Arrow Child and Family Ministries.

Arrow provides emergency shelter for many children in the Panhandle. The children can only stay at the shelter for ninety days, the goal is to help them find a foster home during that time.

A couple hundred volunteers from Hillside are going to help make Arrow a place where the children can feel more comfortable during such a difficult transition period.

The volunteers will help remodel the homes.

They are also putting in a computer lab and will start tutoring the children. They hope the tutoring will become an ongoing project.
