Missing 4-year-old found safe

The missing four-year-old taken by her grandma from Amarillo has been located, police said.

According to Amarillo Police, the grandmother, Sherry Short, AKA Sherry Rosenberger, 58, was arrested near Summerville, S.C., just before 5 p.m.

Four-year-old Bridgette Renee Sholz is safe, police confirmed. She will be turned over to a local child protective agency until she can be returned to parents.

Short remains in custody at the Berkeley County Jail.

It was Thursday when Amarillo Police issued an alert seeking the public's help finding 4-year-old Bridgette Sholz. Police said she was taken by her maternal grandmother, Sherry Short, last Friday, March 16.

A warrant had been issued for Short on the charge of Interference with Child Custody.
