CANYON, TEXAS -- With the 100th Anniversary approaching, the sinking of the Titanic is not only setting sail in theatre yet again with the 3-D release of the film, but will make waves on the WT campus, too.

Mark your calendars for Monday, April 23 for Dr. Robert Ballard who discovered the ill-fated ship more than 70 years later in the cold North Atlantic. Ballard's lecture is set for 8 p.m. in Mary Moody Northen Recital Hall. The event is open to the public, and tickets are not required.

Ballard, is no stranger to the ocean having conducted more than 100 deep-sea expeditions, and the Titanic isn't the only historic relic he's discovered during his adventures. He has found other such historic legends of the sea as the German Battleship Bismarck, the aircraft carrier Yorktown and President Kennedy's PT-109.

A full house is expected, so show up early and set sail with the stories of history not yet swept away by the sea.
