CANYON, TEXAS -- There's soon to be a famous face appearing at West Texas A&M University -- former President of the United States, Bill Clinton.
Clinton will speak at WT as part of the Distinguished Lecture Series, a university effort to inspire and enlighten students, faculty and the community.
The presentation will take place April 24 in WT's First United Bank Center. It starts at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:30), will be open to the public and you can catch it all for free. However, those attending are encouraged to bring a jar of peanut butter to benefit the Snack Pak 4 Kids Program, plus WT's Distinguished Lecture Series will make a donation to the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pa. in an effort to help raise funds to finish the memorial for the 40 people who lose their lives in the crash on September 11.
In his presentation, Clinton will discuss the William J. Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative.
Former President Bill Clinton isn't the only big name WTAMU has brought to its campus over the years through the Distinguished Lecture Series. His name will soon be added to a list including Elie Wiesel, Maya Angelou, Mike Huckabee, Dr. Jared Diamond and Sally Ride.
Canyon Snack Pak 4 Kids is asking that those who attend, bring a jar of peanut butter to be dropped off at the door.
