Clovis police investigate city's latest homicide

CLOVIS, N.M. -- The Clovis Police Department Special Operations Unit and the 9th Judicial District Major Crime Unit are investigating the city's latest homicide.

According to police, a 911 call came in Saturday night at 7:31 p.m. that someone had been stabbed in the 300 block of Aspen Street.

Once police arrived on scene they found 35-year old Santiago Betancourt suffering from stab wounds.

He was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

An investigation is underway. Police say no arrest have been made.
