ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - An actor who plays a high-rolling drug dealer on the Emmy Award-winning AMC drama "Breaking Bad" is griping about crime in Albuquerque, where the show is filmed. Aaron Paul tweeted this week that he was burglarized twice while shooting the hit series about a teacher and former student who become partners in crime. He says his car and now his house were hit. Paul later tweeted that he loves "Albuquerque and the people."
LOS LUNAS, N.M. (AP) - Three candidates have been recommended to Gov. Susana Martinez for possible appointment to a vacant Los Lunas district court judgeship. Los Lunas lawyers Walter Hart III and Geoffrey Nims and Belen attorney James Lawrence Sanchez were endorsed as candidates yesterday. The vacancy was created by last month's resignation of Judge John Pope, who failed a random alcohol test while on judicial probation for alcohol-related problems.
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A suspect has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and shooting of a woman on the Navajo reservation near Farmington. The FBI says Perfinna King was picked up Wednesday night at a home in Upper Fruitland. A federal warrant had been issued for King in the April 6 stabbing and shooting of a 33-year-old woman, who is recovering.
SILVER CITY, N.M. (AP) - Western New Mexico University students are asking Silver City residents to hum songs from their childhood for a new sound installation project. The humming gathering is part of a new community-wide project by WNMU that focuses on the humming sounds of the area. It's for a public sound installation project called "Silver City Humming."
