AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo motel was robbed and the clerk was tied up early Tuesday morning, police said.
It was just after 3:00 a.m., when officers are called to the America's Best Value Inn in the 1800 block of Lakeside Drive on the report of an armed robbery.
A male clerk, according to police, said a thin, black male entered the lobby and said he was waiting for someone. As the clerk went into the office, the suspect came up behind him and put a gun to his neck, police said.
The suspect, police said, then tied the clerk up and opened the cash drawer, taking an undisclosed amount of cash. Police said the clerk was able to free himself and call police.
Police are now searching for the suspect. He is described as a black male with a thin build, short hair and thin sideburns. Police said he was wearing a black, flat billed cap and a green or gold, oversized hoodie.
Fortunately, the clerk was not injured, police said.
