SOPER, Okla. (AP) - A Choctaw County sheriff's deputy was killed in a traffic crash last night west of Soper. Authorities didn't immediately release the name of the deputy, who died around 8:30 p.m.
FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - The treasurer in Gore, Oklahoma received a deferred sentence after she was charged with embezzling nearly $60,000. Tana Carter denied she was guilty, but admitted that authorities had enough evidence to convict her. She'll spend two years on supervised release.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A 78-year-old man is in jail today after he was arrested on manslaughter and drunken driving complaints following a head-on traffic crash in Tulsa. Authorities say Jim Vinson wasn't hurt during Wednesday's accident that killed 29-year-old Sheron Armstead.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Edmond counselor received a three-year deferred sentence and has to pay more than $1,600 in restitution after she pleaded no contest to Medicaid fraud. Investigators say Rachelle Harjo falsely billed Medicaid for a session while a client was with a physician and for sessions while another client was out of town.
